Matric can be one of the toughest periods for many, a year which requires one to consolidate all they have learned in their schooling career. It is also a time of excitement and equally daunting with the prospects of a fresh start and independence. Our Bantu Hikers Matric Class of 2016 have shown that they are driven and ready to take on their next phase.
In true Bantu Hikers fashion, we celebrated the end of their matric year enjoying the outdoors and Seapoint beach was the perfect setting on the 26th of November. This gave Bantu Hikers students and professionals a chance to share experiences and parting words for the year. A picnic at the beach was followed by a movie at the V & A Waterfront, all sponsored by Bantu Hikers professionals. Some of our students indicated that they had never been to a cinema before, a privilege that we sometimes can take for granted.
The Bantu Hikers community has not only grown in number but also in heart. Our professionals appreciate the power of experience and not just words hence the overwhelming generosity and support. The Bantu Hikers Matrics of 2016 thank you for walking with them and supporting them to realise their dreams! We look forward to continuing the journey in 2017 with our students as they enter through the doors of higher education.
